One of the main tourist attractions of Chiang Rai is Wat Rong Khun, or 'The white temple'. Created by the famous local artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, the temple is a strange mix of traditional Thai painting and architecture with western popular culture. The murals on this inside of the temple have depictions of everything from Buddha to Jar Jar Binks..... I couldn't quite see the connection between the two but it definitely was interesting. Anyway the following are a few photos of the outside of the temple, if you want to see the wacky inside murals or the amazing art gallery attached you are just going to have to go there yourself....

A side view of the temple (there are 2 metre long catfish in the moat!) |
\Lost souls begging for forgiveness on either side of the entrance to the temple.
Yosita and I outside the temple.
Next post might even have something to do with my work! Don't worry, I will use small words.
